Kryptronic eCommerce Software Update: USPS API Update

An update was issued on January 21, 2026 for Kryptronic eCommerce version 9 and ClickCartPro version 8 (aka EuropaCart). The following update was issued in mini update format for all software versions 8.0.0 through 9.4.0:

- The USPS integration was updated to support the new USPS API. On January 25, 2026, USPS will require using the new USPS API for all Rating and Tracking requests. The older WebTools service is being decommissioned.

All clients using USPS services must update and reconfigure their USPS connection in order to continue using USPS services.

Update Info for All Clients

All Kryptronic software updates are available for all Kryptronic Managed Hosting Clients, and all Self-Hosted Plan Clients. Access to software updates requires an active plan. All plans include software updates.

All Kryptronic Managed Hosting Clients have had this update applied automatically via our Kryptronic Update Service. The update was applied for all Self-Hosted Plan Clients who have valid access credentials on file with Kryptronic. If you use USPS, you were notified via email this update was installed. Follow the instructions below to obtain new USPS API credentials and update your USPS connection.

Self-Hosted clients with older software without an active Kryptronic Self-Hosted Plan should contact the Kryptronic Custom Shop to get on a plan, and to schedule your update installation.

Step 1: Create USPS API Credentials

1. Create an account, and login to the USPS developer portal at https://developer.usps.com/.

2. In the main menu, select the 'Getting Started' option and follow the instructions there: Log In/Create USPS Business Account, Create an App, Retrieve your Consumer Key and Secret and Generate your OAuth Token.

3. When you choose to Create an App using the USPS Customer Onboarding Portal (COP), name your app 'Kryptronic', leave the description empty, and choose Public Access. Copy your Consumer Key and Secret.

4. The default product includes OAuth, Domestic Pricing and International Pricing. To add Tracking, or to increase the maximum number of calls per hour (the default is 60), contact USPS requesting Tracking access and higher rate limits for your App. Instructions for contacting USPS can be found on the 'Getting Started' page. It may take 1-3 days for USPS to provide Tracking access and increase your rate limits.

Step 2: Update Your USPS Connection

Use your Management Interface to access Store / Shipping / USPS API. Configure your USPS connection using the credentials you created. Include your USPS Enterprise Account Number if you would like to use USPS contract rates for your account.

USPS ratings using the new USPS API use retail rates by default, which is the same as the old WebTools service. The new USPS API supports contract rates for your account. In order to use contract rates, access Store / Component / Settings / USPS API Settings and turn on USPS Contract Rates.
